T - Do you remember what your first fanwork was?
When I was five or six I stapled together some lined paper and made a stick figure book about Luke and Leia fighting a Wampa. I mainly remember lettering on the back of the book very carefully, “Luke & Leia Productions.”
P - Invent a random AU for any fandom (we always need more ideas)
I seem to be inexhaustibly thrilled by spy scenarios. Let’s say Erik and the Brotherhood characters are an espionage team, and in the course of a mission Erik has to protect college professor Charles because someone is after Charles’s research, and Charles says some of his students who worked on whatever Macguffin project are also in danger, so they get the younger XMFC characters together, but of course, come to find out, Charles and the kids are a rival spy group. (Raven is, of course, a double agent, though it’s up for grabs whose side she’s really on.) Charles, how could you betray me! Erik, it seemed prudent at the time, you’re kind of a bad guy! Angst! Tension! Wait, we can work together on this— and sleep together— okay, let’s do it x2. Resolution. Erik: “I suppose this is where I give you the ‘We’re not really so different, you and I… join me…’ speech.” Charles: “We really aren’t that different, you prat, I’m ALSO A SPY. Look, stop assassinating people and I’m yours.” And they lived dangerously and happily ever after.
